1.  Review and approval of minutes from December 7th, 2011

Brian Bagley confirmed that a quorum was present, and distributed draft copies of the minutes from the December 7th, 2011.  Brian requested a motion to approve the December 7th minutes, Chris Kowal approved and Wayne Drewry seconded. All in favour.

2. Treasurer’s Report

Bank balance as of December 30th, 2011 was $1,509.28.

3. Rogers – Arlene Frank, concerns raised  to take back to Rogers:
  • Deterioration of buildings as tenants move out and are not replaced
  • UJNA want a better relationship with Rogers – communications is key
  • Empty buildings are a concern – maintenance
  • Huntley Street properties are listed, not designated, 1976-91
  • We conclude the perception is communications with Rogers is ‘closed’
  • Security guards need to walk around outside regularly for community safety
4. Glen Murray’s Office
  • Thoby Cameron shared that Glen’s office working on facilitating community action planning meetings; to find out more go to http://www.torontocentreplan.org
  • Please share information on developments with Thoby – anything development orientated
5. Community Police Liaison Committee – Audrey and Bob
  • Residents reminded to send updates on policing issues to ujnwatch@hotmail.com and let street captain know.
  • Reports of increased graffiti – please send photos to 51 Division – stop immediately.
  • Audrey will walk area and take photos. Review of Action Items from last meeting
6.  Communications and Building Sub-Committee Update
  • Communications and building sub-committee has regrouped, and met twice – looking at ways to encourage residents to attend UJNA meetings from new developments in the area
  • Clarion Hotel for sale
  •  10 Huntley Street –Parking Lot, no update
  •  15 Huntley – no change from original plan
  • 30, 32, 34, 38/40 Huntley Street & 112 – 120 & 122/124 Isabella – Roger has purchased but our connects at Roger are not aware of any development plans
  • 395 – 403 Bloor Street East – no update

  • Casey House – slight technical mortification to the building will be presented to the Casey House board for review, then to the city for consideration
  • Elementary School Teacher’s Federation on schedule to open Spring 2013
  • Bloor and Sherbourne (Groundhog) no development on application
  • Feb 20th Jarvis Cultural Corridor consultation 6:30 – 8:00pm city hall
  • Monsignor Fraser College – is not for sale
  • Sacré-Coeur – 25 Linden Street still reviewing status
7. Items to be taken forward to Councillor Wan Tam
  • Jarvis Street – removal of pay & display removed from UJNA should 5th lane be adde
  • Linden St – traffic study – and need for stop sign at sidewalk and clearer signage
  • TTC – Sherbourne Street
  • Section 37on site specific agreement for properties have that been developed, ie. Wellesley Community Centre pool is earmarked
  • Traffic scrabble light at Mt Pleasant and Jarvis triangle
  • Lane Ways- should we name them as streets
  • Snow Removal why don’t we have our sidewalks cleared
  • Permit parking hours – same as surrounding areas
8. Volunteer Support

Looking for Web Developer – the web site has been updated with thanks to Robert Fisher at Prestige Glass

10. Next meeting will be the election of the executive
