1. Review and approval of minutes from October 2nd 2013
Brian confirmed that a quorum was present 11 members & 2 guests
Distributed copies of the minutes from the October 2nd 2013 meeting and requested a motion to approve. Motion by Carmen and seconded by Mary Proulx. A vote with all in favour.

2. Treasurer’s Report
Bank balance as of Feb 5th 2014 is $1,348.98

3. Update from office of Glen Murray, MPP Toronto Centre; redevelopment of the Salvation Army building to soon take place.

4. Community Police Liaison Committee
• Seeking new Upper Jarvis Neighbourhood Watch Area Captain (let Brian know if you are interested in volunteering for this role)
• Break & enters – several have been noted in the past couple of months, please send alert to ujnwatch@gmail.com
• Gun shoots at Saxony restaurant @ 599 Sherbourne street

5. Community Update

387-403 Bloor
The applicant resubmitted new designs last fall, which are currently being reviewed by City Planning. However, the site may be sold to another developer, whom we met with on January 7, 2014. The new potential owner advised us that they are thinking of making minor adjustments to the application should they purchase the property.

Planning Staff may hold a second community consultation depending on the sale of the land and the nature of the minor modifications.

592 Sherbourne
The applicant also submitted revisions to their design last fall. City Planning seems to be moving towards a final report this spring. They have come down from 52 to 49 storeys, have purchased and are including 15 Selby as part of the application, are at 8% 3 bedrooms, have a 20m setback from the tower to the edge of the development site and are 12.5m setback from the James Cooper Mansion. Timelines appear to be: summer 2014 – tender; fall 2014 – marketing; and construction start spring 2015.

Greenwin Offices and Grocery Store
A No Frills will be opening at 345 Bloor Street East. It’s expected to open its doors by the end of 2014.

Opening of Earl Street to relieve east/west congestion on Isabella

Casey House
February 18th will be a monumental moment for the Casey House expansion. The Ministry of Health will provide its approval for the development to go to tender. Tender period is anticipated to last 120 days. Construction may start in September / October 2014.
The new facility will more than double the usable space for additional day programs.

UJNA to put forth its recommendation for use of Section 37 contributions.
A recommendation from the floor was to encourage an art gallery to be located in the commercial space of 592 Sherbourne.

UJNA to bring forward with councilor consideration for electric bollards on Earl Street to allow for traffic flow at specific times

Presentation re community based policing to be investigated for a future UJNA meeting
